Kat and Kregg are residents of the Santa Fe Art District, and regular attendees of the area’s First Friday events. They discovered SKYLIGHT while attending a First Friday, and loved the idea of hosting their wedding in the arts district.
The couple hired SKYLIGHT Planning to help bring their vision of a simple, modern, and elegant wedding to life.
During their planning meetings, they made it clear that they trusted SKYLIGHT Planner Erin to take full control of the design. Erin was inspired by the mid-century modern Palm Springs aesthetic, and found creative ways to combine this with the couple’s vision.
Erin, Kat and Kregg chose a palette of saturated primary colors to accent SKYLIGHT’s white walls. and focused on clean lines, retro furniture, and tropical touches. SKYLIGHT installed a white tile backdrop behind our copper arch for the ceremony, which was inspired by Palm Springs architecture. It was truly transformed into a unique wedding venue.
Brightly colored florals mixed with a variety of tropical-inspired greenery were hung from the ceiling, and incorporated into the altar design. SKYLIGHT also installed a mylar tape design to accent the ceremony aisle, which later became the dance floor.
Prior to the ceremony, they took photos throughout the arts district, showing off their love for where they live.
After the ceremony, guests mingled in SKYLIGHT’s courtyard during cocktail hour, where they enjoyed cocktails and a large grazing table.
Kat and Kregg’s wedding was unique in that they did not want a traditional reception. In order to create a more casual cocktail party style reception, we utilized a mix of lounge sets, cocktail tables, and our in-house dining tables for guest seating.
For dinner, Love Pop Experience created food stations featuring different Latin-inspired small plates for guests to graze on throughout the evening. The food was a huge hit with guests!
As a former club DJ, music was very important to the groom, and the couple incorporated a variety of different musical styles throughout the evening.
During the ceremony, Kat’s brother and friend performed a song, and Louis Pettinelli provided a string quartet for cocktail hour. Kregg worked closely with Elite Entertainment in selecting songs and different genres of music for the dancing portion of the evening.
Later in the evening, guests were treated to a delicious dessert display, including churros, cake pops, and more!
Congratulations, Kat and Kregg, and thank you to our amazing team of vendors!
