Suvi and Joe’s wedding at SKYLIGHT in Denver was a stunning blend of modern elegance and relaxed celebration, perfectly reflecting the couple’s vision for their special day. The couple hired 828 Planning to help plan and coordinate a joyful, laid-back event with their families and friends.
The Perfect Venue
The couple chose SKYLIGHT for its bright, clean, and airy feel, which suited their modern, soft aesthetic. Our back courtyard was a crucial element of their celebration, providing a beautiful outdoor space that complemented the indoor areas.
The overall vibe was clean and modern, with soft shades of blue accented by white and lush greenery. Huston Floral enhanced the venue’s charm by canopied the ceiling and walls with vibrant greenery, creating a serene and enchanting environment.
Planning the Perfect Day
Suvi and Joe opted for the Partial Planning package from our in-house team, 828 Planning, which offered just the right amount of support for their vision. Their planner, Erin, created a beautiful mylar tape design, and used SKYLIGHT’s in-house draping to add an extra touch of elegance to the space. Erin shared, “Our meetings were always so fun, and always lasted longer than scheduled. Suvi trusted in our planning services to execute her vision.”
A Celebration Reflecting Their Style
As a social butterfly who loves hosting parties, Suvi wanted her wedding to mirror her casual yet fun hosting style. The event was designed as a cocktail-style party with live music, ample food, and varied seating options, both inside and outside.
Instead of a formal sit-down dinner, guests enjoyed a variety of cocktail-style eats offered throughout the evening, allowing for a more relaxed and social atmosphere. Love Pop provided a delicious menu of various food stations including tacos and truffled mushrooms — yum!
Unique and Heartfelt Moments
One of the most memorable moments of the wedding was Suvi and Joe’s first dance, which took place outside during cocktail hour. In a touching performance, Suvi’s daughter sang their first dance song, accompanied by a family friend on guitar. This special moment added a deeply personal touch to the celebration, making it even more meaningful.

These comfortable seating areas provided inviting spots for guests to relax, chat, and enjoy the evening.
